About Us:
The Beehive Project is a National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS) funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, California State Office of AIDS, funded project. The study is conducted in over twenty cities in the United States with the highest HIV prevalence. The Beehive Project administers a community health survey to San Diego residents to find out about our local health needs. Participants are asked to complete a health survey and take a free, anonymous and confidential, HIV test. The data gathered from these surveys is sent directly to the federal government which in turn determines how to fund local health jurisdictions for HIV prevention based on behavioral trends. The Project Coordinator is responsible the day-to-day management of the project, particularly overseeing the field staff and recruitment events.
